My name is Naomi Michelle Andriessen, born and raised in the historic Hanseatic city of Kampen in the Netherlands. Sailing has been my passion for as long as I can remember — quite literally, since birth. I own a small two-masted sailing vessel and obtained my Officer of the Watch qualifications (Officer of the Watch, <500 GT, unlimited) at the Enkhuizen Nautical College. I love helping private boat owners and shipping companies embark on their adventures on the water and maintain their vessels.
I studied Media and Culture at the University of Amsterdam. I think in images — and in terms of bringing people together. I enjoy creating accessible, engaging educational media, videos for social initiatives and nature conservation projects, playful nonsense, and short documentaries. My inspiration comes from the humanities, the strengths and weaknesses of our society, nature, and philosophy. I am curious by nature and love talking with previous generations, as well as with emerging creators bringing fresh ideas. The belief that young and old can learn from one another runs through every field I work in.
All these interests come together in my plans for a creative hub in Kampen: flèks, a space for makers. Through flèks, I collaborate with other creative people, Stichting ARTicipatie, Scouting Group de Hanzeluiden Kampen, and young people who are unsure of their next steps. Together, we build lasting connections. One result is the Flèksy Filmsectie, which turns the voices and perspectives of young people in Kampen into films.
Whether I am at sea, working to protect nature, telling stories through images, or collaborating on social initiatives, I remain curious about what moves people and the world around us. I bring that same curiosity to my work as a coach and mediator. I listen, ask questions, and help people and organisations understand different perspectives, make room for new insights, and find ways forward together. Because, just as at sea, we get further when we learn to look, listen, and trust one another.
My wanderlust keeps me moving; I regularly find myself somewhere else on this blue planet. I might be nearby, or I might be on my way. I am always happy to make time to meet. Feel free to get in touch, and let’s discover what we might be able to mean to one another.
